Have you ever wished you could make a bubble that just keeps growing?
Today you are going to make a silly bubble snake. It is long, wiggly, colorful, and so much fun to watch.
Let's see how long your bubble snake can grow!
What You Need
One empty plastic water bottle
One clean colorful sock
One rubber band
Bubble solution
One shallow bowl
One grown up to help
Before You Start
Ask a grown up to make the bubble blower for you.
They will carefully cut the bottom off the bottle.
Then they will pull the sock over the cut end.
The rubber band holds the sock in place.
Now you are ready to play!
Dip and Blow
Pour the bubble solution into the bowl.
Dip the sock into the bubble solution.
Now hold the bottle to your mouth.
Take a deep breath.
Blow very gently.
Wow!
Your bubble snake is growing!
Look Closely
Can you see tiny bubbles?
Can you see rainbow colors?
Can you count the bubbles?
Take your bubble snake into the sunshine.
The bright light makes the bubbles sparkle like little rainbows.
What Is Happening?
You blow air into the bottle.
The air goes through the wet sock.
The soap catches the air.
Tiny bubbles stick together.
That makes one long bubble snake.
You are learning science while you play!
Bubble Challenge
Can you make a bubble snake as long as your arm?
Can you make one as long as your leg?
Can you blow very slowly?
Can you blow very gently?
Every bubble snake is different.
That is what makes them so much fun.
Fun Fact
Did you know that bubbles love sunshine?
When sunlight shines on a bubble, beautiful rainbow colors appear.
That is why bubbles look so magical outside.
